CSTO Secretary General Meets with President of Kazakhstan

Today, April 5, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, received Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General.

The meeting focused on priority areas of the CSTO’s work and the Organization’s plans for the upcoming period. The CSTO Secretary General informed the President of Kazakhstan on the work of the Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

As you may recall, in February Imangali Tasmagambetov met with Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus. During the meeting, the Belarusian leader urged all CSTO members to “unite and act together.”

It should be noted that since his appointment as CSTO Secretary General, Imangali Tasmagambetov met with heads of all CSTO Member States. Meetings with the leaders of the CSTO States and heads of profile bodies on issues related to the CSTO’s work will be continued on a permanent basis.
