CSTO Secretary General held talks with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia
Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, has received Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
This was reported by the official website of the Prime Minister of Armenia.
It is reported that Prime Minister said that CSTO Secretary General’s visit was a good opportunity to discuss the current situation in the CSTO region and to sum up the results of CSTO activities in 2021. “We will also talk about the plans and challenges we have for 2022 and about further development of the Organization’s mechanisms and its unresolved issues. Certainly, we will also talk about the current situation in the region and in the area of responsibility of the Collective Security Treaty Organization overall. It is also very important, and I would be interested to hear your assessments of it,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
Stanislav Zas thanked him for the meeting and added that the main CSTO action plan for the next year has already been worked out. “This is the plan for the implementation of the decisions of the September session and the implementation of the priorities declared by the Armenian party for the period of its presidency. We have already developed this document and approved it with all our states. I would like to note that this plan is our main document and the action plan of the Secretariat, the Joint Staff and other statutory bodies depend on it; it reflects all the initiatives and proposals that were expressed during the autumn meeting in Dushanbe by our foreign ministers, defence ministers and heads of state. All the priorities you announced during the September session in Dushanbe are also reflected there. In other words, our states have confirmed their readiness to work next year in line with the priorities outlined, among others, by the Armenian party, the next presiding state,” noted CSTO Secretary General.
The meeting addressed the current situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, problems and steps aimed at overcoming challenges as well as programs and activities envisaged by the organization for 2022.
