Hero of Russia Vladimir Shamanov: “Many challenges lie ahead; only together can we win!”
Today, February 15, the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization celebtrate the Internationalist Soldier Day, marking the day of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.
On this day Vladimir Shamanov, deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Civil Society Development, Public and Religious Associations, wished everyone good health and peaceful skies over their heads.
"Dear friends, there are some ties that bind us... May God grant us a tenacious hold on each other! Many challenges lie ahead; only together can we win!” said Mr Shamanov.
Colonel General Vladimir Shamanov has been in many hot spots on the territory of the former USSR and modern Russia. He participated in resolving military conflicts in Azerbaijan and Karabakh, Chechnya and Dagestan, as well as in Abkhazia. “Where Yermolov did not go, Shamanov did,” the military said admiringly about him, calling him “the present-day Yermolov.”
From 2017 to 2021, Vladimir Shamanov chaired the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
Vladimir Shamanov celebrates his birthday February 15. The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly wishes him good health and new successes!
