CSTO States commit to jointly raising awareness about the Organization’s activities
CSTO Member States intend to jointly raise awareness about the Organization’s activities, said Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General, to journalists after a session of the Council of CSTO Foreign Ministers in Dushanbe today. The Organization’s press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov informed BELTA news agency about this.
“The CSTO CFM decided on joint measures taken by the diplomatic missions of the CSTO Member States to raise awareness about CSTO’s activities,” reads the statement of Stanislav Zas. “The foreign ministers of the CSTO Member States decided to instruct the heads of diplomatic missions of their countries to increase cooperation on information support of CSTO’s activities.
In particular, the document provides for holding CSTO Days and using digital resources of Member States’ diplomatic missions for posting up-to-date information about the organization, as well as for maintaining a social media presence to promote CSTO’s activities.”
The meeting approved a draft jurisdiction and legal assistance agreement to be used whenever collective security forces and means temporarily stay within CSTO Member States. “The purpose of the document is to create a mechanism of cooperation of CSTO Member States’ competent authorities (military police, military investigation, military prosecutors, military courts, tribunals) on criminal and administrative cases against members of collective security forces,” the Secretary General explained.
The next meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers is also scheduled to be held in Tajikistan in the run-up to the Collective Security Council session in the fourth quarter of 2021.
