Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of CSTO States under the supervision of Lieutenant General Anatoly Yakovlev, Head of the CSTO Military Forces (Collective Force) Planning Directorate, consulted on the organization and execution of flights (overflights) in the airspace of the CSTO Member States and international flights of air forces of the CSTO Member States, the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization reports.
Speaking to the participants in the event, Lieutenant General Anatoly Yakovlev noted that the January events in Kazakhstan demonstrated the urgency and importance of promptly addressing international flights involving air transport of military contingents, weapons and military equipment in order to ensure an immediate response to the current crisis situation.
Common approaches to improving the organization and execution of international flights by the air force of the CSTO Member States and interdepartmental and inter-state permitting for international transit flights to transport weapons, military equipment and military property were discussed.
