Khasan Sultonov: Afghanistan showed us that we need to be proactive
At the working meeting between plenipotentiary representatives of the CSTO Member States to the CSTO and plenipotentiary representatives of the CSTO Member States’ parliaments to the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Khasan Sultonov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the CSTO and Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation, supported his colleagues’ proposals to exchange information between the CSTO Permanent Council and the Assembly and urged his colleagues to be more active. “I support my colleagues’ proposals; these meetings are very important and, accordingly, we hope for further cooperation within the framework of our Permanent Council and the Parliamentary Assembly,” said Khasan Sultonov.
“The Taliban (an organization banned on the territory of the Russian Federation) started a large-scale operation in Afghanistan in May and already in August it occupied most of Afghanistan’s territory. This became a clear example for us why we need to be proactive together.
We must be ahead of such challenges and threats,” Mr Sultonov stressed.
