Instructors from the 201st RMB in Tajikistan began training 500 military experts for Tajikistan’s Armed Forces
Instructors from the 201st Russian military base in the Republic of Tajikistan have begun a two-month training of 500 servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic.
“The two-month training of foreign experts by Russian servicemen in 14 military professions will take place at the Lyaur and Sambuli training grounds from <...> to March 27,” TASS quotes Colonel Yevgeny Kovylin, commander of the 201st RMB.
The press service of the Central Military District (CMD) of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation notes that instructors will train commanders of multiple rocket launcher systems BM-21 Grad, gunners of self-propelled guns 2S1 Gvozdika, driver mechanics and gunners-operators of T-72 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles BMP-2, gunners and drivers of armored vehicles BTR-80 as well as scouts, grenade throwers and other experts.
At the end of the training, the military will pass qualifying examinations in their subjects and perform test shooting from standard armament of combat vehicles, small arms and grenade launchers.
Training for Tajikistan’s army servicemen has been ongoing since 2015, in this time instructors have trained more than 6,000 personnel.
The 201st military base in Tajikistan is the largest military facility of the Russian Federation outside the country and an important component of the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s Collective Rapid Deployment Force. It is located in the cities of Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defence, NBC protection and communications units.
According to Colonel General Aleksandr Lapin, commander of the troops of the Central Military District of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, in 2022, the 201st RMB and RMB Kant in the Kyrgyz Republic will be supplied with 70 pieces of the latest equipment.
