The CSTO Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils made Operation Nayemnik permanent
On June 17, Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia, chaired a meeting of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils. Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General, also attended.
The meeting approved the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on granting the complex of preventive measures Nayemnik (“Mercenary”) the status of a permanent regional anti-terrorist operation.
According to the website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the event took place in a plenary format with restricted attendance.
The secretaries of the Security Councils discussed measures to neutralize challenges and threats to the security of the CSTO Member States and reviewed and approved a number of important documents related to improvement of the management of troops (Collective Force) and countering terrorism.
In particular, they approved a decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on granting the set of preventive operations Nayemnik the status of a permanent regional anti-terrorist operation.
The CSTO Collective Security Council approved the 2023 CSTO Plan for Joint Training of the Collective Security Command Bodies and Formations of Forces and Assets and a number of other documents, as well as the 2022–2024 Plan of Consultations Between Representatives of the CSTO Member States on Issues of Foreign Policy, Defence and Security.
The next meeting of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will be held in the Republic of Armenia in the fourth quarter of 2022.
