CIS Coordination Council of Prosecutors General and CSTO PA Secretariat outlined ways of closer legal cooperation
The Executive Secretary of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS Member Nations and the Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization met in Moscow on March 19.
Leonid Yermolayev, Executive Secretary of the CIS Coordination Council of Prosecutors General (CIS CCPG) and head of the CIS CCPG Secretariat, and Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) and head of the CSTO PA Secretariat, met in Moscow on March 19, 2021.
According to the CIS CCPG official website, the meeting addressed the results and prospects of bilateral cooperation under the Agreement on Cooperation between the Secretariat of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS Member Nations and the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, signed in St Petersburg on June 5, 2014.
In particular, they discussed participation of representatives of the Secretariat and the Research and Methodology Centre of the CIS CCPG in the activities of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and its working bodies to develop draft model legislative acts, recommendations and other legal acts to combat crime, strengthen law and order and security.
The participants also touched upon the issues of exchanging legal information of normative and theoretic and practical nature and publication of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly’s materials on the CIS CCPG website and in the newsletters of the CIS CCPG Secretariat.
At the end of the meeting, the parties outlined ways of improving and enhancing legal cooperation, in ensuring law and order, security and countering new challenges and threats.
The working meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and cooperation.
