Topographical and legal working groups of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan met in Batken.
“Within the framework of this meeting, the parties continued the dialog and exchanged suggestions on delineating the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border line in the remaining sections,” the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan reported.
The parties will continue to work on the delineation of the remaining sections on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Following the meeting, the sides signed a relevant Protocol, and the talks themselves were reportedly held in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding.
As you may recall, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan share a border of 970 kilometers. Meanwhile, several hundred kilometers of the line of contact have not yet been defined or marked.
