Maulen Ashimbaev Thanked CSTO PA Observers for Their Work at Kazakhstan’s Election

Maulen Ashimbaev, Chairman of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, met with the group of international observers from the CSTO PA working at polling stations in Astana.

He stressed the importance of the Assembly observers’ work and thanked them for their impartiality and professionalism.

Maulen Ashimbaev expressed his confidence in the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and bilateral relations between the CSTO States.

“Already in the new Parliament we will continue to strengthen our cooperation,” Mr Ashimbaev stressed.

As you may recall, following the decision of Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the CSTO PA Council and Chairman of the Russian State Duma, and upon the invitation of Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the CSTO PA formed a group of observers to monitor the preparation and conduct of the early parliamentary election in Kazakhstan. Aleksandr Markevich, deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, was appointed as the group’s coordinator.
