Members of the group of international observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly have completed their observation of the voting process at the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Serbia.
According to the observation results, the CSTO parliamentarians state that the elections were held, and their preparation and conduct were organized in accordance with the electoral legislation of the state and international electoral standards.
During the monitoring of the election campaign on December 15 and 16, 2023, the observers met with V. Orlić, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia; V. Dimitrijević, Chairman of the Republican Election Commission; and representatives of the election headquarters of political parties and coalitions participating in the elections.
Observers note that the participation of a significant number of political parties and coalitions representing the entire spectrum of political forces indicates a highly competitive electoral process. The media of the Republic of Serbia regularly and comprehensively covered the preparations for the elections.
Observers visited 21 polling stations in Belgrade to observe the voting and counting of votes on election day.
The CSTO PA observers were present at various stages of the elections, from the opening of polling stations to the tabulation of the voting results by the polling station election commissions.
The calm and peaceful character of the preparation and conduct of the elections was particularly noted, which had a favorable effect on their atmosphere, contributing to the free expression of the will of the voters.
The results of the observation are reflected in the Conclusion of the group of international observers.
