More than One Million People Visited the Army 2023 International Military and Technical Forum
On 20 August, the Army 2023 International Military and Technical Forum finished its work in the Moscow region. During the week of the Forum’s, its events were attended by 1,093,285 people, according to the website of the Russian Defence Ministry.
This year the Army 2023 Forum received delegations of defence departments of 83 foreign states, with 29 bilateral meetings being held. 83 foreign companies participated in the exhibition (twice as many as in 2022). The Republic of Belarus, China, India, Iran, Pakistan and Vietnam presented their exhibits.
The static exhibition was held in the pavilions and outdoor areas of the Patriot Exhibition and Convention Centre and Kubinka airfield. In total, about 1,500 Russian and foreign enterprises presented more than 28,000 military and dual-purpose products.
In addition, the Forum featured Polygon Club to raise the awareness about the upcoming 2024 Army International Games. It included 22 thematic platforms showcasing 35 professional contests for servicemen, planned within the framework of Army 2024.
A real sensation this year was the Drone Biathlon Club, which included an extended set of events: the forum guests were shown more than 100 exhibits, with master classes being held to demonstrate the drone assembly process. The exhibition area exceeded 1,500 square metres.
The Army 2023 Forum also included a dynamic display of weapons, military and special equipment of the Army and Airborne Forces at the Alabino training ground.
The forum included several major international events: the 2th Moscow Conference on International Security and the 2nd International Anti-Fascist Congress.
The Forum’s agenda included 260 sessions on relevant issues of the development of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and international military and technical cooperation.
During the Army 2023 Forum, seven award ceremonies in 15 categories were held to honour the participants of the largest arms exhibition.
The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation signed state contracts with enterprises of the military and industrial complex for the amount of more than RUB400 billion.
As you may recall, the Army International Military and Technical Forum has been held since 2015. One of the Forum’s organizers is the Main Directorate of Innovation Development of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
