CSTO peacekeeping contingents successfully carried out the tasks of blocking and arresting a simulated group of militants as part of the Nerushimoye bratstvo–2024 CSTO exercise in Kazakhstan.
The peacekeepers detected the simulated militants at an interception point. The assault groups inflicted fire damage on the enemy's equipment, seized it and arrested the militants. At the end of the operation, the armed escort took the detainees to law enforcement agencies for investigation.
Alexei Yelfimov, Deputy Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus, noted that Kazakhstan takes part in seven UN peacekeeping missions in various regions, including Asia and the Middle East. He added that servicemen from Kazakhstan are now performing peacekeeping tasks in the Golan Heights as part of the UN mission.
“At the moment, the Nerushimoye bratstvo–2024 exercise has entered its active phase. In the future, we can apply this experience in further exercises, as well as during the direct participation of our country in peacekeeping operations under the auspices of the UN,” said Alexei Yelfimov.
As you may recall, the exercise in Kazakhstan involves more than 2,000 servicemen, 500 units of armored and automotive equipment, helicopters, aircraft and unmanned aviation.
