CSTO mission arrived in Armenia to study border situation
According to the official website of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, CSTO mission led by Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Organization, arrived in Armenia to review the situation, including at the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and prepare proposals on joint follow-up measures.
The mission led by Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General, arrived in Armenia on September 20 following the decision of the extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
The mission includes representatives of the CSTO Member States employed at the Organization’s working bodies.
The mission is tasked to assess the current situation, prepare a detailed report to the heads of the CSTO Member States on the situation in the region and develop proposals to de-escalate tensions in certain areas at the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In the course of its work, the mission plans to study and monitor the current situation in the border areas and hold meetings.
The CSTO mission’s advance team completed its work in the Republic of Armenia the day before.
