Nilufar Alimzhanova: The Atmosphere at the Elections in Dushanbe is Festive
Nilufar Alimzhanova, member of the Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted that the atmosphere at the elections in Dushanbe was festive.
“As an observer, I was surprised that in Tajikistan polling stations open at 6:00. On the other hand, I saw that many people came in the morning, especially young ones. At 6:00, there was already a big queue, that was also very impressive. Some citizens come to vote in traditional dress. The atmosphere is quite festive, with music and national colors around. And people are so energetic, happy and joyful since early in the morning. Let everything go as they wish. The third remarkable feature is the mother and child room. Since I am a mom myself, I know that on a Sunday afternoon especially, there is no one to leave the children with. Kindergartens and schools are not working. So this is also a very practical idea. I would also definitely raise this issue in my state. I am glad that people are so eager to go to the elections from early morning,” Nilufar Alimzhanova said.
The observer noted that there were no violations in general. The impressions are positive.
