CSTO Ready to Send a Mission to the Border Between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Yury Shuvalov, representative of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Secretariat, said that the Organization is ready to send a mission to the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan to assist Armenia. He said this after an extended meeting of the Organization’s leadership at the CSTO Staff.
“As for the Caucasus region of collective security, the Organization is constantly ready to send a CSTO mission to the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan to ensure Armenia’s security,” Mr Shuvalov said.
The official also said the CSTO is ready to provide other assistance measures.
As you may recall, earlier Mikhail Galuzin, Russian deputy Foreign Minister, said that all issues of interaction with Yerevan within the CSTO, including the deployment of a CSTO observation mission to Armenia, “will be addressed in a constructive and mutually beneficial manner.”
