Oleg Sviridenko: Countering Destructive Foreign Influence Meets the Interests of all CSTO Member States
A special meeting of the CSTO PA Council’s Expert Advisory Board discussing a number of Eurasian security issues was held within the framework of the 2024 St. Petersburg Legal Forum.
Oleg Sviridenko, deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation, took part in the CSTO PA experts' discussion.
He stated that it was time for the CSTO Member States to think about taking mirror measures in response to the unfriendly actions of the collective West.
"I believe that all CSTO Member States will be interested in creating consolidated organizational and legal mechanisms to exercise control over destructive foreign influence. And we should not neglect these interests, fearing a threatening shout from the Brussels side," the deputy Minister of Justice emphasized.
The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is carrying out legislative work to counter foreign interference. In particular, on December 5, 2022, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly adopted Recommendations on Improving Legislation to Ensure Protection of Electoral Processes and Sovereignty in the CSTO Member States.
