CSTO Parliamentarians Noted the Importance of Coordinating Positions on International Platforms
On October 24, St. Petersburg hosted a meeting of the Permanent Commission on Political Affairs and International Cooperation of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
The participants discussed the implementation of presidency priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the CSTO in 2024, draft Recommendations on Developing Common Approaches to Counter External Disruptive Attempts to Revise Historical Events Connected with the Great Patriotic War and Second World War, as well as Recommendations on the Harmonization of the Legislation in the Area of Military-Patriotic Education.
An important item on the agenda was a report on the CSTO's activities between the sessions and the ratification of international treaties concluded within the Organization.
The meeting also summarized the results of the coordination meetings of the heads of parliamentary delegations of the CSTO Member States in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, which were held this year.
At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the draft work plan of the Parliamentary Assembly for 2025.
