CSTO parliamentarians held a meeting of standing commissions of the Parliamentary Assembly
An extraordinary joint session of the Standing Commissions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization was held in St Petersburg on May 17, 2022.
Anatoly Vyborny, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Defence and Security of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and deputy Chairman of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, chaired the meeting where members of the standing commissions – parliamentarians of the CSTO Member States together with experts considered draft Recommendations on the Improvement of the CSTO Member States’ Legislation on Closing Channels of International Terrorism and Recommendations on Regulating the Circulation of Virtual Assets (Combating the Spread of Cryptocurrencies and Other Electronic Payment Surrogates Undermining (Destroying) National Financial Systems).
Meeting participants considered an appeal of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the United Nations titled To the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to Investigate the Activities of Biological Laboratories in Ukraine, adopted by a resolution of March 11, 2022.
The meeting also considered the issue of introducing amendments to the 2021–2025 CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States.
Parliamentarians also discussed the composition of the Expert Advisory Board under the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.
