CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is a constituent body of inter-parliamentary cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization
We begin to inform our followers about the tasks performed by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and its structure and work modalities.
The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is the statutory body of inter-parliamentary cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
According to the Provisional Regulation on the Parliamentary Assembly, it consists of CSTO States’ parliamentary delegations whose size is determined by the parliament/chamber of the State’s parliament.
Observers take part in the work of the Assembly. They have the right to attend public meetings, receive meeting materials, speak on issues under discussion and make proposals, but do not vote.
The CSTO PA adopts model legislative acts aimed at regulating legal relations within the CSTO’s area of competence, recommendations on the approximation of the laws of the CSTO Member States and their harmonization with the provisions of international treaties concluded by these States within the framework of the Organization.
To this end, the Assembly adopts a corresponding Action Plan. At present, there is a 2021–2025 CSTO PA Action Plan on Approximation and Harmonization of National Legislation of the CSTO Member States.
