Pyotr Tolstoy: decisions of the forthcoming OSCE PA session are null and void for Russia
“You all know that the delegations of Russia and Belarus have been rudely denied entry visas to the territory of the United Kingdom, and therefore we will not take part in the forthcoming session of the OSCE PA. As this was done in violation of the letter and spirit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, all decisions made during this session (29th Session of the OSCE PA on July 2–6, 2022 in Birmingham) will have no meaning for the Russian Federation due to this violation of the rules of procedure,” said Pyotr Tolstoy, deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and head of the parliamentary delegation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the OSCE PA, speaking at the coordination meeting of the CSTO parliamentary delegations to the OSCE PA that was remotely held today.
Pyotr Tolstoy noted that this was not the first time that the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly had grossly violated the rules of procedure. “A number of such violations has occurred in the past three years, we had a serious disagreement with the leadership of the Assembly on this issue, and this time the Assembly fully admitted its inability to organize work in one of the states hosting the summer session,” said the parliamentarian.
“We understand that the topics that have been announced so far are of a strongly anti-Russian nature. We are talking about the situation around the special military operation, some kind of international court and so on.” “There is a lot of funny wording there, and I want to say that none of this – not even close – will happen,” said Pyotr Tolstoy.
“Dear colleagues, I want you to know that the Russian Federation is determined to complete the special military operation to de-Nazify and completely demilitarize Ukraine,” emphasized Pyotr Tolstoy.
He reiterated that no decisions taken at this session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly would be recognized by Russia. “For us, they are legally null and void.”
