Yerlan Koshanov elected Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On February 1, the plenary session of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan unanimously elected by secret ballot Yerlan Koshanov as the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the press service of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairman thanked MPs for support, underlining that it was a high honour and a great responsibility before the people of Kazakhstan and the head of state.
Earlier, Nurlan Nigmatulin tendered his resignation from the post of Chairman of the Mazhilis at his own request. By decision of the Central Election Commission, the vacated mandate of Nurlan Nigmatulin was transferred to Yerlan Koshanov, Head of the Executive Office of the President of Kazakhstan.
The text of the resolution posted on the website of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan titled On Registration of the Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Zhakanovich Koshanov reads: “To transfer the vacant mandate of the deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Yerlan Zhakanovich Koshanov, a member of the Nur Otan Party public association. To register Yerlan Zhakanovich Koshanov as a deputy of Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To present to Yerlan Zhakanovich Koshanov a standard certificate thereof and a badge.”
