Chairpersons of the CSTO parliaments’ committees on international affairs will discuss countering foreign interference
Chairpersons of international affairs committees (commissions) of the parliaments of the CSTO Member States will discuss the international agenda and relevant issues of parliamentary interaction on February 9 in Moscow in a hybrid participation mode.
Andrei Kartapolov, member of the Coordination Council of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Chairman of the Defence Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, will brief participants on the results of the first operation of the CSTO Peacekeeping Force contingent in early January 2022 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and ways of improving legal support for peacekeeping activities of the Organization’s Member States.
Vasily Piskarev, Chairman of the Commission on Investigation of the Facts of Interference by Foreign States in the Internal Affairs of Russia of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, member of the Coordination Council of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, will deliver a report on the experience of the Commission on Investigation of the Facts of Interference by Foreign States in the Internal Affairs of Russia of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
Leonid Kalashnikov, member of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Political Affairs and International Cooperation, Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, will speak about decisions and measures adopted by the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly to prevent foreign interference in the internal affairs of the CSTO Member States.
Participants of the meeting will deliver reports on the military and political situation in the national segments of the CSTO area of responsibility.
Sergei Ryabkov, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, will brief participants on the Russia-US and Russia-NATO talks on security guarantees.
Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, will receive the meeting participants; and on February 10 they will meet with Stanislav Zas, CSTO Secretary General, and Anatoly Sidorov, head of the CSTO Joint Staff.
