CSTO PA representatives addressed the participants of the Eurasian Youth Forum

On February 15, Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, greeted the participants of the Eurasian Youth Forum held in St. Petersburg and themed as "Eurasian Space in Modern Political Realities. New Challenges and Opportunities".

He noted that today, the position of young people and their conscious creative involvement in scientific and practical activities to develop Eurasian integration, ensure collective and indivisible security, protect national cultural heritage, traditional values and historical truth are particularly important.

"The confrontation imposed by the Western coalition raises an issue – how to achieve sustainable development in the context of unfair competition, sanctions, hybrid and open pressure? It is especially hard where so-called color revolutions and double standards sow chaos, political terror, all sorts of extremism, corruption, and crime, destabilizing countries and entire regions. The choice is obvious – to continue moving towards equal economic integration and at the same time to improve legal, political, diplomatic, and military foundations of equal security for everyone," Sergei Pospelov emphasized.

Viktor Rogalev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the CSTO PA, also addressed the participants of the Youth Forum. He noted that a significant and universally recognized contribution to the process of improving legal, political, diplomatic, and military foundations of equal security for everyone in the CSTO format is made by the Parliamentary Assembly, which since its establishment in 2006 has been successfully developing, adopting, and sending legal Model Acts to parliaments with the goal of drawing together and harmonizing the national legislation of the Member States. He also familiarized the Forum participants with the priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan during its presidency in the CSTO, voiced by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at the meeting of the Collective Security Council in November 2023.

Abdukhalil Gafurzoda, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan in the CSTO PA, also delivered a welcoming speech at the Forum.

As you may recall, the Youth Forum dedicated to Eurasia has been held since 2014. The mission of the Forum is to create a platform for voicing the active position of young people and young scientists, to form future managers to determine the strategic vectors of development of the country and the world community.
