The CSTO Council of Defense Ministers' Working Group discussed electronic warfare issues
On June 17, a regular meeting of the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers Working Group on Electronic Warfare was held in St. Petersburg.
The event, chaired by Colonel-General Yuri Lastochkin, Chief of the Electronic Warfare Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, was attended by representatives of the defense departments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and a group of officers of the CSTO Joint Staff headed by the Deputy Head of the Center for planning the use of Troops (Collective Forces) CSTO Lieutenant General Anatoly Yakovlev.
In his video address to the participants of the working meeting, Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, noted that the experience of modern armed conflicts, including the special military operation, confirms the need for effective organization and conduct of electronic warfare in support of the tasks being solved by military groups.
This issue is particularly relevant when the Collective Forces of the CSTO are used in conjunction with electronic warfare forces and equipment. The creation of a joint electronic warfare system at the interstate level, the equipping of the armed forces of the CSTO member states with modern weapons, and the training of relevant specialists are also very important.
During the meeting, issues of improving the CSTO regulatory framework in the field of electronic warfare, joint training with EW units of groups of Troops (Collective Forces), as well as the experience of using electronic warfare forces and means of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in modern armed conflicts, approaches to shaping the appearance and legal basis of a unified (unified) electronic warfare system were considered. the struggle of the armed forces of the CSTO member states.
