Ravshan Rajabzoda: Work on the Protection of the Tajik-Afghan Border Picked up Momentum
Ravshan Rajabzoda, Chairman of the Committee on Legislation and Human Rights of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, spoke at the meeting of Chairmen of the Committees on International Affairs, Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States.
He emphasized the alarming situation in Afghanistan and the need to strengthen the Tajik-Afghan border.
“We welcome the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council of November 28, 2024, to approve the CSTO Targeted Interstate Programme on Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border,” Ravshan Rajabzoda noted.
The parliamentarian added that the CSTO is required to adopt a set of measures aimed at combating trafficking of weapons and drugs, illegal migration, penetration into the region by members of terrorist and extremist groups and their ideology, and, generally, countering challenges and threats to security emanating from the territory of Afghanistan.
