Russia and Tajikistan Work on the Development of the 201st Russian Military Base
Russia has confirmed its readiness to further contribute to the modernization of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan. This was stated by Sergei Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, at a press conference following Moscow talks with Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, his counterpart from the Republic.
“Our joint actions to ensure security interests are multifaceted. As I have already said, the 201st military base in Tajikistan has been operating reliably for a long time. It provides security not only of this country, but also of the southern borders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. We are working together with our Tajik friends to improve its efficiency, including by successfully developing the aviation component,” Sergei Lavrov stated.
During the talks with Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, he emphasized that “our states are time-tested allies, relying on multifaceted cooperation.”
