Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh demined the northern outskirts of Stepanakert
Engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh are completing the demining of the northern outskirts of Stepanakert, according to the Information and Mass Communications Department of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
During the operation, engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh demined 260 hectares of land, about 100 kilometers of roads, 434 buildings. More than 8,600 explosive objects were found and neutralized.
In addition to clearing the territory of explosive objects, local population continues to receive medical aid. The special medical unit of the Russian peacekeeping contingent stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh continues to provide aid to the local population not only in the city of Stepanakert, but also in other settlements of Nagorno-Karabakh. Since the start of the peacekeeping operation, 800 people have received qualified medical aid, including 35 people from the village of Ghishi who have asked for medical help in the past 24 hours.
Local residents mostly seek help for acute stages of various chronic conditions, cardiovascular and endocrine system illnesses and dental issues.
The special medical units in Nagorno-Karabakh employ more than 60 doctors, including military surgeons, anesthesiologist resuscitators, GPs and epidemiologists.
