Just before the New Year, Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh hosted a humanitarian event in schools
Just before the New Year, servicemen of the Peacekeeping Management Centre hosted a humanitarian event at the secondary schools Nos. 2 and 12 in Stepanakert, Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to the website of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, during the event, Russian peacekeepers handed out school backpacks, stationery and boxes of sweets to students.
Each backpack contained pens, coloured pencils, sketch books, notebooks, felt-tip pens, notepads and grade books. Russian peacekeepers also handed out holiday cards with New Year’s wishes and greetings written by Russian Young Army Cadets to the children of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Russian peacekeepers have already held similar events in several schools of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Soldiers of the Russian Centre for Humanitarian Demining in Nagorno Karabakh also conduct lessons for secondary-school students on safety measures to take in case explosive objects are detected.
Students learn the classification of explosive devices, what to do if one is detected and how to administer first aid. Classes are organized for middle and high school students, teachers and parents.
