At the Lyaur mountain training ground in Tajikistan, T-72B3M tank crews of the 201st military base destroyed armoured vehicles, personnel and a stronghold of the simulated enemy.
In the course of the exercise, the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle crews detected the location of the simulated enemy, its stronghold and an accumulation of armoured vehicles. The crews of the T-72B3M tanks left their positions and went on the offensive. During the counter-attack, using digital ballistic calculators and Sosna-U panoramic sights, the tank crews hit the simulated enemy's vehicles and elements of the stronghold in motion at a distance of up to 1,500 meters with the 2A46 125-mm gun. Targets simulating armoured vehicles and enemy personnel were hit by tank gunners with Kord large-caliber machine guns.
The servicemen also practiced extreme driving in mountainous terrain, flank and rear attacks on the enemy and raid operations.
As you may recall, the 201st military base in Tajikistan is Russia's largest military facility outside its borders, located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It consists of motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defence, NBC protection and communications units.
