Crews of T-72B3M tanks of the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan took part in military exercises. They successfully destroyed armored vehicles and manpower of the simulated enemy at the Lyaur mountain training ground.
According to the exercise plan, the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle crews detected an attempt by the enemy to go on the offensive. The crews of the T-72B3M tanks emerged from the ambush and launched an attack in response. Using digital ballistic calculators and Sosna-U panoramic sights, the tank crews successfully destroyed enemy vehicles at distances of up to 1,500 meters.
Tank gunners hit targets with Kord large-caliber machine guns. In addition, servicemen practiced flank and rear attacks on the enemy and conducted raid operations.
Located in Tajikistan, the 201st military base is Russia's largest military facility outside its borders. It includes various types of armed forces and units – motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defence, NBC protection and communications units.
