Rustam Shokhmurod Noted the Importance of Legislative Support for CSTO Activities
While observing the CSTO exercises in Belarus, Rustam Shokhmurod, Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Heads of Defence Committees of the CSTO Member States and Chairman of the Committee on Law and Order, Defence and Security of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, stressed the importance of harmonising the legislation of the CSTO Member States.
“The CSTO Collective Forces currently hold exercises in Belarus. Our task is to observe these exercises and develop organizational and legal mechanisms for interaction between the CSTO Member States,” Mr Shokhmurod stressed.
He noted that the CSTO Member States need to develop common approaches to defence and security.
“The issues of legislative support for the Collective Forces’ activities are being raised, the main share of regulations has already been adopted. Each country has its own tasks that it must achieve and bring its legislation in line with the goals and objectives of the CSTO,” the deputy said.
As you may recall, on September 5, heads of the defence commissions of the parliaments of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) held a meeting in Minsk.
