Rustami Emomali was unanimously elected Chairman of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan.
On April 17, the first meeting of the National Assembly of the sixth convocation was held in Dushanbe, with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon participating and presenting.
According to Khovar news agency, before the election of the new Chairman of the National Assembly, the first session of the National Assembly of the sixth convocation was chaired by Nizom Kosim, the oldest member of the upper house of parliament, according to the constitutional law On the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the session, Dilbar Odilzoda, a member of the National Assembly, proposed the candidacy of Rustam Emomali as Chairman of the National Assembly. His candidacy for the post of Chairman of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan was supported unanimously in a secret ballot.

Rustam Emomali was born on December 19, 1987 in the Republic of Tajikistan; an ethnic Tajik; has a university degree.
In 2008, he graduated from Tajik National University with a degree in World Economics;

Since April 2009, he has been Acting Head of the Business Support Department of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, and was appointed Head of the department in June 2009.
In 2011–2012, he headed the Department of Customs Offence Control of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
From 2012 to 2013, he held the office of deputy Head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
From 2013 to 2015, he was the Head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
By the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan of March 16, 2015, he was appointed Director of the Agency for State Financial Control and Anti-Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan.
By the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan of January 12, 2017, he was appointed Acting Chairman of Dushanbe and in April 4, 2017, he was elected Chairman of Dushanbe.
On March 27, 2020, he was elected a member of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan.
