Serbia Interested in Developing Observer Cooperation with the CSTO PA
Momčilo Babić, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation, held the first meeting after his appointment with Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The parties discussed further development of cooperation, which has been ongoing since April 2013. Ten years ago, the Republic of Serbia received observer status in the CSTO.
Sergei Pospelov recalled the fruitful work of international observers from the CSTO PA at the polling stations in Belgrade on the voting day of the election of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the early election of deputies to the National Assembly.
Since Serbia gained observer status, the leadership of the Assembly has been regular guests at CSTO PA councils and plenary sessions.
Parliamentarians of the National Assembly of Serbia are invited to participate in the work of the standing commissions in St Petersburg on March 28–29.
