Andrei Serdyukov: Changing Combat Conditions Require Improved Training of CSTO Military Forces
Speaking at the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Defence and Security Committees of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States, Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, noted that the Organization's exercises in the Kyrgyz Republic are the basis for training the CSTO's Collective Rapid Reaction Forces.
“The exercises are aimed at practicing the use of forces and means to resolve a crisis. Collective Rapid Reaction Forces represent a universal instrument of the collective security system, allowing us to promptly respond to all existing challenges and threats. During the exercises, the participants will bring the contingents of the Collective Forces to the highest combat readiness, create a group, prepare and conduct a joint operation to resolve an armed conflict,” said Andrei Serdyukov.
Representatives of the CSTO parliaments arrived in Kyrgyzstan. The visit began with laying flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Victory Square in Bishkek. On September 10, the Coordination Meeting of Chairpersons of Committees on Defence and Security under the CSTO PA Council took place. Tomorrow, the parliamentarians will observe the active phase of the Vzaimodeistvie – 2024 CSTO exercise in Balykchy.
