During an exercise, CSTO CRRF logistics function provided logistics support for a border conflict suppression operation
At the Kapustin Yar proving ground, an operation was held to supply ammunition and hot meals to the military group that supressed the border conflict, which concluded Echelon 2020, an exercise of the CSTO CRRF logistics function.
According to the press service of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, on August 18, after many kilometres of marching from permanent deployment points, the logistics function of the CSTO Member States moved to the waiting area specified in the directive and began to deploy the supply points. New work algorithms of the logistics management teams were tested.
In desert and steppe environment, experts of the defence agencies of the CSTO Member States, in cooperation with the logistics units of the Southern Military District, met ammunition-replenishment standards in the waiting area, deployed mass-refuelling equipment, set up a bath and a laundry and a mobile PPB-32 field bath and started baking bread in a mobile bakery.
In order to promptly confirm food safety and quality, logistics personnel deployed a mobile field veterinary and sanitary laboratory.
On August 19, in addition to the organization of equipment mass refuelling, supply of ammunition and hot food to units on the offensive, the organization of extraction, repair and recovery of automotive and armoured vehicles, the second stage of the exercise focused on ensuring security and defence of command posts and units, as well as on addressing the issues of ammunition replenishment.
The exercise, led by Lieutenant General Viktor Voronov, Commander of the Troops of the Southern Military District of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, involved more than one thousand servicemen from the CSTO Member States and over 250 vehicles.
