Joint Belarusian–Russian exercises Slavic Brotherhood 2020 started today at the Brestsky proving ground
They will last until September 25, TASS reports quoting the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
“In accordance with the 2020 International Activities Plan, a regular joint Belarusian-Russian tactical exercise Slavic Brotherhood will be held on September 14–25 at the Brestsky proving ground, Republic of Belarus. It has been held annually since 2015,” reads the report. The Ministry particularly emphasized the anti-terrorist nature of the exercise.
Among others, the exercise will involve units of the 76th Guards Airborne Assault Chernigov Red Banner Division of the Order of Suvorov. “In the course of the exercise, the paratroopers of the two countries will practice interaction and concerted unit action during the performance of tactical tasks,” the Defence Ministry said.
“A total of about 300 servicemen and about 70 items of combat and special equipment of the Guards Airborne Assault Unit will take part in the exercise from the Russian Federation,” TASS reports.
