Spetsnaz of the Russian Defenсe Ministry’s Southern Military District to conduct reconnaissance in the mountains of Armenia
Units of the special forces of the 102nd military base of the Southern Military District in Armenia will conduct a reconnaissance mission at the Alagyaz high-altitude training ground during the control inspection of the summer training period.
According to the press service of the Southern Military District of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, spetsnaz operators will perform a 10-kilometre march to the target area. Using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the specialists will photograph and record videos of the positions of the simulated enemy, determine their firepower and the location of the command post. The information obtained about the location of the “enemy” and its fortifications will be promptly transmitted to the command posts.
UAV reconnaissance will be conducted in high altitude conditions with gusty winds, which complicates UAVs’ control and landing. Servicemen of the South Military District will also practice emergency landings of UAVs on unprepared sites.
In addition, servicemen will test their skills in shooting, traversing an obstacle course, camouflage and concealed movement at high altitude.
