Sukhoi Su-34s of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrive in Belarus for joint exercises
Russian Sukhoi Su-34 supersonic fighter-bombers arrived in Belarus today, January 17, to take part in the joint exercise.
Participants in the tactical manoeuvres, which began on January 16, will practice the landing of tactical airborne troops, air reconnaissance, delivery of supplies and evacuation of the wounded, as well as joint patrolling of the airspace along the state border.
The Sukhoi Su-34s have high flight characteristics. These bombers have proven themselves in actual combat operations.
According to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus, all airfields and proving grounds of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of the Republic of Belarus are involved in the exercise.
As you may recall, three out of four exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be held in Belarus in September 2023. They are Vzaimodeistvie exercise of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force, Poisk exercise of reconnaissance units, and Echelon exercise of logistics units.
CSTO PA parliamentarians will traditionally participate in the exercises.
