Tasmagambetov: CSTO Pays Special Attention to Peacekeeping and Counter-Terrorism Activities
On June 3, at the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, noted that the political and diplomatic format of interaction within the Parliamentary Assembly, which has been tested for many years, “has proved its competence and efficiency. Closer coordination in the work of the Secretariat and the Parliamentary Assembly can strengthen the potential of the Organization in countering mentioned threats and contribute to the creation of a 'security space' in Eurasia”.
Imangali Tasmagambetov stressed that the Organization still pays particular attention to the creation of the necessary administrative, legal and organizational conditions for integrating the CSTO peacekeeping potential into the UN peacekeeping activities.
He noted that the CSTO is a key factor in preserving stability in the Eurasian space, capable of ensuring the security of the Organization's Member States.
