Ulan Primov: Kyrgyzstan Intends to Further Increase CSTO Authority
Ulan Primov, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, addressed the meeting of Chairmen of the Committees on International Affairs, Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States in Moscow.
He outlined the key areas of the Organization's work under the Kyrgyz chairmanship since January 1, 2025.
Ulan Primov stressed the need to enhance the Organization's authority as a regional actor capable of providing efficient response to contemporary challenges.
The parliamentarian also expressed support for the initiative of the Russian side to promote the Roadmap for strengthening interaction between key regional security organizations in Eurasia – CSTO, CIS and SCO.
“The successful implementation of the suggested set of measures, as well as the prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the new 2030 CSTO Action Plan, can cause a synergy, leading to a reliable neutralization of all current threats, including those of biological and ideological nature, as well as threats in the field of crisis and emergency response,” Ulan Primov noted.
He added that Kyrgyzstan is open for interaction with all recognized international actors, “who deem important Eurasian security, sustainable development and integration”.
The CSTO PA Council will be held in May in the Kyrgyz Republic.
