Foreign Ministers of the CSTO Member States Met in Almaty
On June 21, Almaty hosted a meeting of the CSTO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, reported on the international and regional state of affairs and its impact on the security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Member States.
The participants of the meeting discussed a wide range of international issues with a focus on the problem of ensuring peace and stability in the CSTO collective security regions.
As a result of the meeting, the ministers agreed upon the draft Decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council "On the CSTO Target Interstate Program on Strengthening the Tajik-Afghan Border", previously approved by the Council of Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils.
They also adopted a number of statements:
- Statement of the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO Member States on Pressing Matters of Exploration and Use of Outer Space for Peaceful Purposes;
- Statement of the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO Member States on the 80th Anniversary of Belarus' Liberation from Nazi Invaders;
- Statement of the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO Member States on the Situation in the Middle East and North Africa;
- Statement of the Foreign Ministers of the CSTO Member States on Expanding Cooperation in the Field of International Information Security.
