CSTO Exercise Boyevoye Bratstvo 2023 Launched in Brest
The opening ceremony of the CSTO exercise Boyevoye bratstvo 2023 was held in Brest Fortress in Belarus with more than 2.500 military personnel participating.
Five joint and special exercises will be held in Belarus on September 1–6 in accordance with the 2023 Joint Training Plan of the CSTO Collective Security System Forces and Assets.
The ceremony was attended by Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General; Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff; Major-General Viktor Gulevich, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, first deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Belarus; Major-General Pavel Muraveiko, first deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus.
Servicemen of the national military contingents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan stood in one line.
The participants of the ceremony honoured the memory of the defenders of Brest Fortress with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame.
The observation mission of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly will also monitor the exercise in Belarus.
