Kazakhstan summarizes results of parliamentary senatorial elections
The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced the final results of the election of senators to the parliament that took place on Saturday, January 14.
The official CEC website informs that the election of senators to the parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan is recognized as valid.
The elected deputies include four acting senators, five secretaries of regional maslikhats (local representative bodies), four regional deputy akims (heads of administration), two district akims, two officers of the central state bodies, one head of an educational institution, one head of a regional department and one representative of a joint stock company.
As you may recall, deputies are voted for by electors – citizens of the Republic who are deputies of maslikhats – on the basis of indirect suffrage by secret ballot.
International observers from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly are preparing to work at the election to the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan scheduled for March 2023.
