Minsk hosts the 56th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia

On June 17, Minsk hosted the 56th regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, chaired by Vyacheslav VOLODIN, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and Vladimir ANDREICHENKO, first deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
The session was attended by the leadership and deputies of both parliaments of the Union State.
Parliamentarians discussed the results of the Assembly’s last year’s work, priority issues of further development of the Union State and formation of the common legal space, including the development of agriculture and food security. Parliamentarians paid special attention to the work to abolish roaming charges between Russia and Belarus in accordance with the direct instruction of the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. Mediation between the governments of Russia and Belarus on this issue will continue.
