Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization held consultations to review a draft Plan for Joint Training of Management Bodies and Formations of Forces and Means of the CSTO Collective Security System for 2021.
According to the CSTO Joint Staff press service, the consultations were held on January 21–23 under the general superintendence of Lieutenant General Hasan Kaloyev, First Deputy Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff.
Representatives of defence agencies of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff, as well as the Coordination Service of the CIS Council of Border Troops Commanders attended the discussion.
“The main purpose of the consultations is to discuss the proposals and comments on the draft plan provided by the CSTO Member States’ defence agencies, and refine its content,” said Lieutenant General Kaloyev when opening the event.
Meeting participants discussed the measures to increase the readiness of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system to perform their intended tasks. The terms, locations and compositions of the involved management bodies and formations, as well as those responsible for the joint training events scheduled for 2021 have been agreed upon.
The agreed draft document will be sent to the CSTO Permanent Council to review and decide whether it will be further submitted to the Organization’s Member States for coordination on the national level.
