Constitution Day Is Celebrated in the Republic of Tajikistan
On November 6, the Republic of Tajikistan celebrates one of the most significant dates in modern history - the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution.
Exactly 30 years ago, on November 6, 1994, a historic event took place: during the national referendum, the absolute majority of the citizens of the Republic voted for the adoption of a new Constitution.
The Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan consolidated the legal foundations of independent Tajikistan, its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On Constitution Day, patriotic events, solemn meetings, round tables, exhibitions and festive concerts are traditionally held throughout the Republic.
Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan, noted that the implementation of constitutional norms made it possible to create a stable foundation for society and the state, strengthen peace, tranquility, political stability and national unity.
Speaking at a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of Tajikistan in October, Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, praised many years of creative and selfless work of Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic, who "along with the political will and wisdom of the heads of the friendly countries forms legal foundations and ensures efficient activity of the CSTO and its Parliamentary Assembly, or, in other words, provides the basis of the regional contour of collective security and cooperation.”
