Viktor Vasilyev Emphasized the Importance of the CSTO PA Expert Council's Work
A special meeting of the CSTO PA Council's Expert Advisory Council was held on the margins of the International Legal Forum in St. Petersburg.
Parliamentarians and experts from all Member States of the Organization took part in the discussion.
Viktor Vasilyev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation to the CSTO and Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation expressed concern over the increased conflict potential in the international arena.
"In the Eurasia region, the main risks are related to the policy of the United States and its allies, who have abandoned the principle of indivisible security. That means that they only associate their security with the security of themselves and that of their allies. The general situation in the region is also aggravating. We see what is happening in the Middle East, primarily the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The conflict potential is also accumulating in East Asia and other parts of the Eurasian space," Mr. Vasilyev reminded.
He emphasized the importance of qualitative treatment of all the problems raised during the meeting by the members of the CSTO PA Council’s Expert Advisory Board.
