Vasily Piskarev: We are ready to share our experience in countering foreign interference
On May 17, after an extraordinary joint session of the standing commissions of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, Vasily Piskarev, a member of the Coordination Council of Chairpersons of Committees (Commissions) on Defence and Security of the Parliaments of the CSTO Member States under the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and Chairman of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, expressed his readiness to share his experience in counteracting foreign interference in the internal affairs of the state with his parliamentarian colleagues from the CSTO Member States.
According to the website of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vasily Piskarev spoke in favour of combining efforts of the CSTO Member States in protecting sovereignty. “We work openly, so we are ready to have a detailed discussion of the experience we have in legislative counteraction to foreign interference, if anyone is interested.”
Vasily Piskarev noted that the agenda of the extraordinary meeting of the standing commissions of the CSTO PA included the issue of supporting an appeal of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to the UN and the CSTO PA to investigate the activities of biological laboratories in Ukraine.
“The preliminary results of the ongoing investigation and the fact that the laboratories’ organizers are trying to hastily cover up the traces of the experiments conducted there give every reason to assert that the activities of the US laboratories established in Ukraine pose a serious biological threat not only to the residents of the nearby territories and the local environment but also to the entire planet,” said Vasily Piskarev, noting the need to “continue working to consolidate efforts of the CSTO Members aimed at countering outside threats and protecting the sovereignty of our states on the regular basis.”
